First, let me say that when I played minor hockey in Trenton, for me stopping a puck was like trying to make the Trent River stop flowing. I had my moments, but they were short-lived and there was no goalie coach to show or teach me anything. Article content

I was not nearly as good as my friend Dennis Orr (he will again appear in this column), or Wayne Bonter, both of whom played on Trenton provincial championship teams.
Fortunately when I got older, playing in the Gashouse League in Belleville for Stanley Structures, I improved my play, on a scale of 1-to-10, 10 being highest, I improved to a 7, although fellow goaltender Vern Fraser was a better keeper.
