COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is asking the public to give feedback on a proposed traffic safety improvement project along Columbia's Millwood Avenue.

SCDOT will be hosting a drop-in public information meeting 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at MLK Jr. Park Community Center, 2300 Greene St. The project plans will be on display and a SCDOT representative will be on hand to answer questions.

The area in question affects Millwood Avenue between Gervais and Devine streets and, according to SCDOT, was chosen by SCDOT's Traffic Safety Office due to the crash history and volume of vehicle and pedestrian traffic along the corridor.

Typical improvements being considered include signal, signage and sidewalk improvements.
