Previous coverage: Mother kidnapped near USF found safe in Largo; suspect arrested

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A man suspected of kidnapping his former girlfriend at least three times turned himself in to authorities on Thursday.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, 26-year-old Jahvontae Bell was previously arrested in July of 2024 for the kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend, Jayanna Clark, 25, who went missing near the University of South Florida and was later found safe in Largo.

Clearwater police also confirmed to News Channel 8 that prior to that incident, Bell had allegedly kidnapped Clark on June 14.
