A man allegedly tried to assault officers in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East early Thursday.

He’s also accused of threatening police and not listening to their demands, a release says.

The man was wanted on a warrant from Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Kenneth Watts, 35, was charged with assault peace officer, breach of recognizance, resist peace officer and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
