Malkangiri: As a low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal is expected to trigger very heavy rain in South Odisha, the Malkangiri administration on Thursday announced closure of all schools in the district on September 26.

“There has been continuous rainfall in various parts of this district leading to a situation, which may be difficult for young children to navigate. Therefore, to avoid any untoward situation and keeping the safety of the children in mind, all government, aided, and private schools will remain closed,” Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay said in an office order. However, headmasters, teachers, and other staff members have been directed to remain present in their respective institutions.
