It's time to help beautify local neighborhoods. You've heard of the Adopt a Highway program so now it's time to get involved in a new Adopt-A-Block program in the city of Yakima.

THE CITY IS PARTNERING TO GET THINGS DONE

A press release from the city says Yakima partnered with Yakima's Habitat for Humanity to create the program in which residents can adopt a city block from areas who wish to be adopted and receive volunteer assistance. Yakima City Manager Vicki Baker says the program is in the initial phase and will grow in the future. “We are looking for community members who are interested in being ‘champions’ for blocks."
