The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of Kroger-brand shrimp due to concerns over radioactive contamination, marking the second recall of the grocery giant's products in recent weeks.

The first recall involved about 150,000 pounds of shrimp sold at Kroger stores nationwide. In August, the FDA issued a recall for Great Value-brand shrimp sold at Walmart.

The shrimp was sold in over 30 states, including Alabama, according to a Sept. 23 announcement from the FDA. Here's what shoppers should know about the latest shrimp recall and whether you should check your freezers.

The recall includes bags of frozen shrimp and Kroger frozen shrimp products from Lawrence Wholesale LLC of Vernon, Calif.:
