Volunteer opportunities across Grey-Bruce with a variety of organizations will be available all in one place Oct. 1, in the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library from 3 to 6 p.m.

Owen Sound and Area Association of Volunteer Administrators group is holding its annual volunteer fair that day.

As many as 29 organizations can fit in the downstairs auditorium at the library and so far 21 have confirmed they’ll be there, said fair committee member Rhonda Mitchell, who works with volunteers at the Billy Bishop Museum in Owen Sound.

OSAAVA consists of administrators who are responsible for managing volunteers at 45 different organizations in the area. Mitchell suspects those groups collectively rely on as many as 1,500 to 2,000 volunteers to carry out their missions.
