League City City Council voted unanimously to approve a combined $2.8 million investment for upgrades to Lobit Park and Newport Park at its Sept. 23 meeting .
The park improvements are scheduled to be completed in early 2026, according to city documents, and include the following improvements:
Lobit Park redevelopment
Budget: $2.35 million
Contractor: Houston-based B&D Contractor
According to agenda documents, upgrades include:
Renovated baseball fields with new dugouts, fencing and lighting
New pickleball courts
Pedestrian bridge improvements and new sidewalks
Water line extensions
