At a Clark County School Board meeting this month, it was brought to the public’s attention that member Lydia Dominguez is going to run for Congress in District 3 in Las Vegas next year for the seat held by U.S. Rep. Susie Lee. Dominguez has already published campaign literature.
I bring this up because she ran for the school board seat in District B last year and won. Her voters thought they were getting a trustee who would commit to the whole four years. It appears after serving for the last eight months, she is bored with her duties as a trustee.
If you run for a board seat, you should keep your commitment barring unforeseen situations that would not allow you to do so. Running for Congress should not be one of them. I have high hopes for the new board, its new members, and our new su
