A Texas man was set to be executed Thursday in the 2008 death of his then-fiancée’s 13-month-old daughter in a supposed exorcism.
Blaine Milam, 35, was 18 when he and his partner Jesseca Carson called 911 regarding her daughter, Amora. Police arrived to find the toddler’s mutilated body beaten with a hammer and covered in bite marks, with signs of sexual assault and strangulation, the most gruesome crime scene they said they’d ever witnessed.
An autopsy revealed multiple skull fractures and broken arms, legs and ribs — so many potentially fatal injuries that the pathologist couldn’t tell which one had killed the young girl. Prosecutors said her ordeal had lasted roughly 30 hours.
The couple told police they’d found Amora in that condition after leaving her alone for an hour. They al
