GRANT, Minnesota — A pair of brothers already held in connection with a home invasion and kidnapping now face federal charges in the incident, which was allegedly motivated by a scheme to steal millions of dollars in cryptocurrency.
The U.S. Attorney's Office on Thursday announced it filed kidnapping charges against 23-year-old Raymond Christian Garcia and his 24-year-old brother Isiah Angelo Garcia. Federal prosecutors say the brothers engaged in a kidnapping and cryptocurrency heist where they held three members of a Washington County family at gunpoint for more than nine hours and eventually stole $8 million in crypto assets.
