Following an extensive nationwide recruitment effort led by Odgers Canada, the City of Greater Sudbury announced on Thursday the appointment of Rob Grimwood as the new Chief of Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

Grimwood said in a statement he is looking for to his new job, wich he starts Oct. 27. “I look forward to working with the City of Greater Sudbury team and am proud to take this leadership role with Greater Sudbury Fire Services,” he said. “My family and I are excited to relocate to this community.”

He brings more than 29 years of experience in fire services, including 17 years in senior leadership roles, the city said in a release. Most recently, he served as deputy chief with Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, where he oversaw the Professional Development
