Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira insists the Carabao Cup win over Everton shows they can compete in the Premier League.

Despite knocking two top-tier teams out of the competition – West Ham being the other – Wolves have lost all five of their league games and sit bottom of the table.

But Marshall Munetsi’s 29th-minute goal and Tolu Arokodare’s late strike at Molineux earned them a second victory in the tournament and booked their place in the fourth-round draw.

Wanderers had previously failed to keep a clean sheet this season but frustrated an Everton side who threw on Jack Grealish , Beto, Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in search of an equaliser in the second half.
