OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney is traveling to London for meetings with leaders from the United Kingdom, Australia, Iceland, Spain, and Denmark. These discussions are scheduled for tomorrow. This marks Carney's second official visit to the U.K. since he took office and his third meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

During this trip, Carney aims to strengthen international relationships as his administration seeks to lessen Canada's dependence on the United States for trade. He has emphasized the importance of building robust global ties.

In addition to bilateral meetings, Carney will participate in the Global Progress Action Summit, an annual event that gathers center-left political and business leaders. He previously addressed this conference when it was held in Montreal last year.

The Prime Minister's frequent international travel has drawn criticism from the Conservative Party. They have accused him of prioritizing public relations over tangible outcomes, suggesting that his trips are more about photo opportunities than achieving concrete results.
