“This set of bronze bookends was first owned by my husband’s grandfather in the early 20 th century,” wrote Carolyn Moore of the item she was interested in bringing into the Michigan Design Center in Troy for appraisal. “I would love to know more about them as I am about to give them to our grandsons,” she added.
His grandfather, she explained to appraiser Brian Thomczek at the event, was “a serious collector of a lot of different things,” and died in the 1930s. “I have twin grandsons, and each is getting one, but I wanted them to know what they are getting,” she added.
