A DEFENCE solicitor for a Tamworth man accused of serious domestic violence abuse says the Crown will have "significant difficulty proving the matter" after the alleged victim retracted her story.
Magistrate Julie Soars handed Carl Blacklock's Legal Aid defence and the police prosecution a letter purporting to be a retraction statement in Tamworth Local Court.
Blacklock appeared via video link from custody in court. He remains bail refused on three charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH); and three charges of intimidation - all domestic violence-related.
Police have served a partial brief of evidence, the court heard.
"Are you telling me you have a compliant brief?" Ms Soars asked the prosecution.
