NOVA SCOTIA, Canada — A diver had quite a story to share and show when he came back to Maine after a dip in the ocean off the coast of Nova Scotia.
John Brooks and his wife Louann were vacationing with their neighbors in late August. While there, John signed up to do some scuba diving with Torpedo Rays.
"My initial plan to go down there was to work on my buoyancy," John explained.
A few minutes into a third dive off Fox Point Beach, things got more interesting.
"[We were] about 18 to 20 feet down in the water. As I'm sitting there—lying there, actually—my buddy, my instructor, gives me a tug on my vest, my BCD," John said. "He starts pointing, and I looked around to where it is—this gray matter, whatever. Next thing I know I see this big shark!"
