BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Voters in Bristol got the chance to hear from the two candidates running for mayor on Thursday.
The mayoral debate was held at the Parkside Cafe between Republican incumbent Mayor Jeff Caggiano and Democratic former Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu.
The candidates debated numerous issues impacting the city, including downtown revitalization, crime and public safety.
"I also think that the detectives, in certain times, case loads are very high, so if we're going to be solving crimes, we need to give them the resources that they need," Zoppo Sassu said. "But overall, I think our police department ranks very high."
