SAN FRANCISCO — Arts and craft store Michaels is reviving the brand name of their
Michaels acquired the fabric retailer giant when Joann’s filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January for the second time in less than a year. The retailer had completed a previous restructuring in April 2024 that saw it delisted from the stock exchange and become a private company.
The “revival” comes in the form of placing signage across all Michaels locations in the United States, Canada and online. They will also sell Joann’s Big Twist yarn brand line, which comes as Michaels has seen a surge in customer interest in fabrics, sewing and yarn following its competitor's fall.
