CANTON ‒ The man accused of kidnapping a woman at knifepoint earlier this month from a Jackson Township shopping area is facing additional charges.

A Stark County grand jury indicted Jamie Triplett, 38, on charges of aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence, abduction, disrupting public services, and two counts each of assault, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging or endangering.

The aggravated robbery charge includes a specification alleging that Triplett is a repeat violent offender specification due to convictions for rape, kidnapping and assault in 2012.

Stark County Common Pleas Judge Taryn L. Heath had granted Triplett judicial release on Feb. 18, suspending the rest of the 20-year sentence she gave him in the 2012 case.
