NEW DELHI: In what could prove a game-changer in the Bihar polls, PM Narendra Modi will launch via video-conferencing on Friday Bihar's Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana and directly transfer Rs 10,000 each into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across the state. Officials said the scheme was aimed at making women "atmanirbhar" (self-reliant) and promoting empowerment through self-employment and livelihood opportunities. JDU national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha said six months after the first payment of Rs 10,000, govt would review and assess self-employment initiatives before providing additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh each in stages.
