ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Turning the old into new. A small business in Rockford is carving out niche position in the marine industry.

Erik Eclov owns a runs Few-Man Boats in the Forest City. He showed us around his shop.

"It's basically gutted down to the very bones," he said while showing us a boat his team is working on. "This is the starting place for most aluminum boats when they're riveted together in the factory."

"The whole elevator pitch of Few-Man Boats is don't go buy a new boat, save your old one. So, we take boats like this, they come in often it's a lot of wood and carpet. It's rotted," he showed.

Eclov said his business is all about customization and restoration. He said the business was born out of a simple love for boats.
