CITYWIDE – CITY “RAT CZAR” KATHLEEN Corradi has stepped down from her position as director of rodent mitigation after two and a half years on the job, reports The City .
Her tenure saw a significant drop in citywide rat sightings, largely as a result of the city’s shift to containerized trash and other anti-garbage measures; according to the mayor’s office, reports in the first eight months of the year were down more than 16% compared to the same period in 2024. Mayor Adams praised Corradi’s work and pledged to carry on the fight.
Corradi formerly led rodent mitigation efforts at the city Department of Education, and is moving on to NYCHA as the new senior vice president for resident services, partnerships and initiatives.
