POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Yvonne Flowers and City of Beacon Mayor Lee Kyriacou both shared some key initiatives with the business community on Thursday that they say will improve the quality of life in their respective cities.

Both Flowers and Kyriacou presented to nearly 200 members of the business organization at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce September breakfast.

Kyriacou, who was elected in 2020, said the City of Beacon is in a strong financial position with a great deal of growth and construction in the works.

He cited the recently completed $17 million, state-of-the-art fire station to replace its three antiquated fire houses, which were being sold.
