BRENTWOOD — The Rockingham County commissioners said they will hold a special public hearing on whether to house Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees at the Brentwood jail, after protesters filled their meeting room in opposition to the proposal.
Protesters, organized by the group Greater Seacoast NH Indivisible , appeared at the Rockingham County Complex for the Sept. 25 commissioners meeting, holding signs that read “No to ICE,” “No ICE abduction,” and “I prefer crushed ICE.” They gathered around the conference table where the commissioners held their regularly scheduled meeting to speak during public comment.
