STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. -- An hours-long standoff with a domestic violence suspect ended with the man being shot by deputies.

According to the Stevens County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home on Old Arden Highway about six miles south of Colville for a reported disturbance around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say 56-year-old Anthony Sparacino is suspected of severely assaulting another man at the home.

Sparacino refused to come out of the home. Deputies say information indicated he was alone in the house with multiple guns. Deputies also note Sparacino has made suicidal ideations in the past.

At 10:30 p.m. law enforcement from Colville, Kettle Falls, and Chewelah police as well as Washington State Patrol responded.
