Saturday night will be the fifth Penn State White Out Game for safety Zakee Wheatley and could be his last, depending on the postseason.
He has bittersweet feelings about it.
“It’s like a happy-sad moment for me,” Wheatley said. “I’m taking it all in. It’s a blessing to go on the field and play in front of those diehard fans in that environment. This is what we all dreamed of.”
A sellout crowd will watch the third-ranked Nittany Lions (0-0 Big Ten, 3-0) take on No. 6 Oregon (1-0, 4-0) Saturday night at 7:30 at Beaver Stadium. It’s only the second time that top 10 teams will meet in the White Out Game, which started in 2004.
It’s the first one for Penn State wide receiver Kyron Hudson, who transferred earlier this year from USC and who grew up in Southern California.
