Peter Friedlander is joining Amazon MGM Studios as its new head of global TV.

Mike Hopkins, head of Amazon MGM Studios and Amazon Prime Video, announced the news today in a memo to staff, noting that Friedlander will oversee the company’s original TV portfolio in the U.S., as well as global tentpole titles, MGM Television, and MGM Alternative.

Friedlander was the former head of scripted U.S. and Canadian television at Netflix, with several high-profile titles under his belt, including Wednesday, Bridgerton, Emily in Paris, and more.

The executive left the streaming giant in August and starts his new role on Oct. 6. He succeeds Vernon Sanders, who recently left Amazon MGM Studios .
