SCHENECTADY — Schenectady’s chief building inspector is the subject of an internal review after he asked for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to respond to a work site in July.

After responding on July 18 to an Eastern Avenue worksite where a Thomas Paul Construction crew was working on a home’s roof without permits, Schenectady Chief Building Inspector Brian Trinci called the county dispatcher to request police presence at the site. Trinci added that he believed “illegals” were working at the site.
