NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- Rock legend and New Jersey’s own Jon Bon Jovi was honored Thursday in Red Bank with an inaugural plaque at the Count Basie Center for the Arts’ Walk of Fame.

The Walk of Fame is part of the center’s centennial celebrations, coming up in November 2026. Bon Jovi and William “Count” Basie were the inaugural inductees.

“I really do appreciate you inducting me, along with the great Count Basie, who is the original Monmouth County rockstar,” said Bon Jovi, while accepting his award.

“We wanted to pick two people that really are legacies and icons of this community,” said Adam Philipson, CEO and president of the Count Basie Center for the Arts. “Jon has had such an unbelievable presence here and always continues to come back. And Count Basie is our namesake.”
