CLEVELAND (WJW) -- The FOX 8 I-Team has found it could be a very long time until a winner is decided in the court battles over the Browns' plan to move to Brook Park to build a dome.
The City of Cleveland filed a lawsuit in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in January, trying to stop the Browns from leaving. Last month, former Cleveland Mayor Dennis Kucinich filed a taxpayers' lawsuit also trying to block the team from leaving the stadium on the lakefront. Both of those cases are still pending, and there are no trial dates set yet.
The Browns, last October, also filed a lawsuit in federal court, asking a judge to rule the Modell law unconstitutional. That case is also still pending, and no date for that case to get settled either. Despite all of those lawsuits, the Browns' schedule for
