DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The City of Davenport has appointed an interim city administrator while the search continues for a permanent city administrator.

The Davenport City Council has appointed Tim Gleason as interim city administrator, beginning Nov. 3, city leaders said in a media release. He will serve in the role for at least six months while the city conducts a search for a permanent city administrator.

The search for the next permanent city administrator is expected to get underway in mid-October, according to the media release.

In July, Doug Maxeiner said he was resigning from the city administrator position because of health issues. His last day will be Oct. 1.
