RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A community is grieving after a house fire claimed the lives of a father and two daughters.

It happened early Tuesday morning, September 23 in Doniphan.

“Their loss and the tragedy is just absolutely devastating, not only to our church, but our whole community,” said Monty Flanigan, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Doniphan.

The First Baptist Church in Doniphan has become a place of comfort this week, after the loss of three members from the Vandergriff family.

“Right now we’re just overwhelmed. Our hearts are broken. It’s just devastating with those two little girls, you know, and of course, you think the dad is just a great man of God,” Pastor Flanigan continued.
