A woman was hit by a Montreal public transit bus in Lachine on Thursday afternoon.
“Around 4:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a collision involving a bus and pedestrian, near the corner of Provost Street and 25th Avenue, in Lachine borough,” said Manuel Couture, spokesperson for Montreal police (SPVM).
According to initial reports, the collision occurred when the pedestrian attempted to cross Provost Street between the 24th and 25th Avenue – as the STM bus was approaching.
“The pedestrian, a 68-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital,” added Couture. “She was conscious during transport and according to doctors her life is not in danger.”
The SPVM’s collision squad is investigating to shed light on exactly what happened.
