FORT HOOD, Texas — A former Fort Hood sergeant found guilty on 29 charges - including attempted premeditated murder, rape, kidnapping and more - is dead, Army officials confirmed Thursday.

According to Army spokesperson Maj. Travis Shaw, Sgt. Greville Clarke was found unresponsive in his cell at the United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB) on Sept.19, 2025.

"Fort Leavenworth Fire and EMS were unable to resuscitate him, and he was pronounced deceased. An investigation conducted by CID into the incident is ongoing," Shaw told 6 News.

The U.S. Army Office of Special Trial Counsel convicted Clarke of crimes committed against five victims in April.
