SOUTH ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Tower Grove Park officially began its major renovation project on Thursday, aiming to modernize core facilities and restore historic structures.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held near the Piper Palm House, marks a key phase of the park’s Common Ground campaign.

The project includes construction of a new Event Support Building—featuring restrooms, a concession stand and a catering kitchen—as well as the restoration of four historic Victorian pavilions.

These upgrades will improve accessibility, functionality and visitor experience while preserving the park’s historic charm.

Funded in part by a $500,000 Save America’s Treasures grant and support from local foundations, the project is one of the most significant in the park’s recent history.
