TRAVERSE CITY — With absentee ballots going out today, Traverse City commission candidates faced off at a forum to share their ideas for the city’s future.

The League of Women Voters of Grand Traverse Area brought together candidates Lance Boehmer, Kenneth Funk, Mary Mills, Laura Ness and Peter Schous for a round of questions submitted by the audience. Each had a minute — or less on lightning-round questions — to respond on a variety of topics ranging from tax-increment finance to investment in city services.
