[IOWA CITY, Iowa] — An immigrant advocacy group claims a man was taken into custody earlier today by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in downtown Iowa City.

Escucha Mi Voz reports that Jorge Ochoa was detained inside Bread Garden Market. The group shared a video of the incident and is demanding Ochoa's release.

The city of Iowa City stated that the action was a federal operation and that local police were not informed or involved. KWWL is working to confirm whether ICE conducted the operation.
