LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A gas leak broke out on Ryan Street and caused many traffic jams in surrounding areas this afternoon.

While it’s unclear what exactly caused it, the Lake Charles Police Department is directing traffic for a company servicing gas lines in the area.

Ryan Street between East Claude Street and East School Road is closed.
