INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- An Independence mom is upset after finding her daughter's soccer field torn up. Now, she said the undefeated team is out of their normal practice space.

Someone drove their vehicle in circles, doing donuts, on the soccer field near Salisbury Road and Jennings Road.

The damage forced at least one head coach to cancel practice on Wednesday.

“When she got home from school and found out that there was no practice and no pictures, she was kind of heartbroken,” mom Marissa Shoning said.

Picture day and soccer practice for the Huskies were also canceled due to the ruts in the soccer field.

“Somebody had decided to do donuts on the field, and it's unplayable now,” Shoning said.

“And it could end up hurting a child if we were to practice on the field.”
