NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The Nash County Sheriff’s Office says the parent of a Red Oak Elementary School student is charged with assaulting a school employee.

The sheriff’s office says that last Friday morning, a parent became irate with an employee at the school, which escalated into a minor physical altercation.

There were no injuries reported and no weapons involved.

The sheriff’s office says the parent immediately left campus without further incident, and there was no further threat to students or staff.

The parent is identified as 46-year-old Lakisha Caudle of Battleboro. She’s charged with assault on a school employee and disorderly conduct on school property.

Caudle was placed in the Nash County Detention Center before posting a $1000.00 secured bond.
