Two of the alleged Trinitarios gang members named in a sweeping federal indictment earlier this year have been extradited back to the U.S. to face charges related to two murders in Massachusetts.
Elvis Trujillo, 27, and Yeferson Vallecillo Cambar, 23, were arrested last December in Honduras ahead of the indictment unsealed in February that included more than two dozen alleged members of the Trinitarios street gang operating in Massachusetts. They were returned to the U.S. to face racketeering conspiracy, or RICO, charges on Wednesday and appeared in federal court in Boston Thursday afternoon.
Trujillo was in the U.S. illegally and federal prosecutors say they believe he consented to removal to Honduras after being convicted of an earlier shooting to avoid charges for his role in a murder
