Rory McIlroy was hit with a savage chirp by a fan at the Ryder Cup, but the 2025 Masters winner couldn’t have been a better sport about it.

The 2025 Ryder Cup begins on Friday and runs through Sunday. It will be held at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, with Keegan Bradley (Team USA) and Luke Donald (Team Europe) serving as the captains.

Rory McIlroy and Team Europe got one final practice round on Thursday before the three-day 2025 Ryder Cup showdown. During the round, cameras caught McIlroy buttoning up his shirt, leading to this hilarious chirp from a spectator.

“You don’t need a button to choke, Rory,” the fan said.

That drew a laugh from Team Europe and other fans around him. It appeared that McIlroy said, “That’s a good one” as he acknowledged the heckler.
