Second-year Carson-Newman Head Football Coach Ashley Ingram said that he is looking for the right athlete to play for the Eagles.
The Morristown Rotary Club got an opportunity to hear Ingram address the club Wednesday afternoon during its weekly meeting at The Country Club.
“We try to recruit good people,” Ingram said. “Obviously, you’ve got to be a good football player. The first thing we do is go to the transcript. Do they work hard in school? Do they give effort? During the last two recruiting classes, the recruits’ grade point average has been 3.5. We want good football players, but we want young men that take their schoolwork seriously and will come to Carson-Newman and graduate and do the right things.”
