The mayor of Quincy, Massachusetts, is apologizing after making controversial remarks about the LGBTQ+ community and the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal.
Mayor Thomas Koch made the comments Monday in an interview on WBZ NewsRadio, seemingly downplaying abuse within the church.

"That was mostly homosexual issues, not pedophilia," Koch said on " NightSide With Dan Rea ."
When Rea pointed out that "a lot of children," including as young as 13, were affected, Koch replied, "Pedophilia is a younger age than a teenager, but that's another issue for another day."
