KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - As the 2026-27 FAFSA has opened early, students in the Show-Me State have been encouraged to file quickly to get as much financial aid as possible.

The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development says that the U.S. Department of Education opened the 2026-27 FAFSA an entire week ahead of schedule.

Now, department leaders have encouraged students and families to file their FAFSA before Feb. 2 to be considered for the most financial aid possible.
