YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — Earlier this month, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained Yuma barbe while at work and now, with his wife just three weeks away from giving birth, his family is fighting for his release.
Twenty-four-year-old barber Maikol Carreno was in the middle of a haircut when ICE agents stormed through the door at Stay Faded Barbershop in Yuma.
A security video inside the shop shows the moments they take him into custody.
Carreno’s wife, Neyllin McCowan, a U.S. citizen, said it took days to locate and speak to him before he was ultimately transferred to the Eloy Detention Center .
“It makes me mad. I don’t agree with what they are doing. Because what they are basically doing is just kidnapping people,” McCowan said.
