BOARDMAN The Boardman High School Class of 1975 is giving back to its alma mater 50 years after graduation.

The Class of 1975 donated $2,000 to the school to buy new patio umbrellas for the courtyard near the school cafeteria.

"We hope to have them in place this fall and they'll be ready to welcome students again in the spring for sure," Principal Dr. Mark Zura said.

Currently, the courtyard features hardwood benches and picnic tables built by Boardman High School wood shop students.

District representatives say the courtard is a popular spot among students as a place to eat lunch, study and hang out with friends.
