Lindsey Fry knows hockey, and knows where it belongs.

The Olympic silver medalist is among a group of Valley leaders aiming to bring back an NHL team after The Arizona Coyotes were sold last year and moved to Salt Lake City after 27 years.

“Hockey belongs in the desert,” said Fry.

The Valley lost their NHL team after then-owner Alex Meruelo failed to secure plans for a suitable new arena for the team. That included a failed vote in Tempe and another failed effort to buy state land in north Phoenix for what would have been a $2 billion development that included a new arena.
